Ultimate Staffing is seeking an Assistant Assembly Manager to join a client in Fort Worth. This is a full-time, direct hire position. The position is 100% onsite.
This role will assist the Assembly Department Manager in supervising assembly processes, ensuring high-quality production, meeting deadlines, and achieving operational goals. You will play a key part in driving efficiency, fostering team engagement, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Oversight
- Monitor workflow, resource allocation, and team performance to maximize efficiency and maintain quality output.
- Troubleshoot assembly line issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in planning and organizing daily assembly activities to meet production schedules.
- Partner with the Department Manager to implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and boost productivity.
- Represent the department in meetings and provide updates on operational performance.
Team Supervision
- Support and guide team leads and operators to ensure responsibilities are executed effectively.
- Provide coaching to promote a safe, positive, and productive work environment.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and cross-training initiatives to build a versatile workforce.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate execution of testing procedures and continuous improvement of testing processes.
- Monitor quality standards, address discrepancies, and review metrics (e.g., defect rates, production KPIs) to identify improvement opportunities.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing workplace safety regulations and company policies.
- Uphold 5S standards to maintain an organized, clean, and efficient work environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly, including 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of assembly processes, production scheduling, and inventory management.
- Proficiency with manufacturing software and tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
